Stranger
[edit]I have no idea if foreigner in the sense of a person from somewhere else needs its own article in Wikipedia. I attempted to remove all the linksusing that sense, but I think that may be a lost cause. Any suggestions, alternative approaches, or solutions would be appreciated. -Acjelen 00:06, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Foreigner → Foreigner (disambiguation) – Alien (law) is the primary topic of Foreigner. Foreigner should be redirected there. John Smith Ri (talk) 08:30, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose Stranger can also be a similar primary topic. Overall I think "foreigner" is too vague to have a primary redirect. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 15:53, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
- Weak oppose by usage the band has 51,677 views compared with only 5,859[[1]] for Alien (law). Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:02, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose, OP has presented no evidence why this should be a primary redirect. Stranger and Foreigner (band) are especially relevant. 162 etc. (talk) 18:26, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. I think the term is usually broader than the strict legal definition of "alien", so I'm not sure this would be that useful. After all, the Foreigner band name refers to how the band's British members would be "foreigners" in America (and vice versa), yet one or two of the Brits later achieved American citizenship. I'm sure they'd still be considered the "foreigners" of the group in the US given the context. Nohomersryan (talk) 23:37, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, immigrants, migrant workers, and expatriates can all be defined as "foreigners". 162 etc. (talk) 23:49, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
